Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity...building homes in partnership with God's people in need.

Ken Mumm

I grew up in Seward, NE and attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. After graduating, I accepted a teaching position in Maywood, NE. From there, we moved to Lincoln again where I taught at Pound Junior High. We moved to Kearney in 1977 when I accepted the position of Assistant Principal of the then, Kearney Junior High, now Horizon Middle School.

I first joined the Habitat Board in 1997 and served my first stint at President during 2001-2002. I have since joined the building committee where I am currently serving as painting and yard coordinators. And, am again, serving the Board as President.

My wife, Bonnie, and I enjoy our time at Habitat whether it be during the week or on Saturdays. We get to make a difference in the lives of others as well as meet wonderful people from Kearney and the surrounding area.

We have two married children and three grandchildren; so, when we aren't in Kearney, we are usually with them. We have had the fortunate experience of building for God's people in need in Vietnam and Romania as well as Kearney.
