Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity...building homes in partnership with God's people in need.

Edith Marlatt

I have been a part of the Kearney Area Habitat organization since it was in the planning stage in 1992. It is such an exciting program and you can not help getting "Habititus" once you get involved. I have served on the board and other committees and two years as president in 1999 and 2000. Most of my on-site service has been in serving food. I have been part of the evolution of "Elaine's Cook Shack" from the early days of weekly carrying everything to the site and serving the food from card tables. What an improvement has been made, but still with the same delicious donated food!

I could not imagine a more worthwhile and rewarding project to be involved in. The world wide vision of Habitat International is exemplary and the local affiliate is so "hands on rewarding". You could not find better people to work with.

I have lived in Kearney my whole life and have been married to Jerry for more than 50 years. We have four daughters, one son and fourteen grandchildren.
