Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity...building homes in partnership with God's people in need.

Bonnie Mumm

My husband Ken was on the board of HFH first, and I "tagged along" at the worksites and caught the spirit. I really like to pound a hammer but found my better contribution was in Elane's food shack, so when Rebecca Taylor "retired" after many hours of managing the food shack, I took her place. My favorite part of my job is working with such wonderful volunteers, and planning the dedications when we present the homeowners with the keys to their new house!

Ken and I moved to Kearney in 1977 and planned to stay 5 years. Needless to say, we love Kearney and stayed. I graduated from UNL many years ago and worked as secretary and Administrative Assistant for 38 years, most recently at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I retired in 2011 and now spend time with Habitat and visiting our kids. . . daughter Jackie and James Gill and their son Jack who live in Brooklyn, NY and son Erik Mumm, his wife Angela and daughter Evie - who live in Longmont, Colorado.
