Scholarship Donations
Because of a generous donation provided by the estate of Elaine Wilcox, one of the early supporters and workers for Kearney Area HFH, our Board voted that part of her donation be used to help Kearney Area Habitat homeowners and their families pursue higher education goals. Family members are able to receive $500 per semester for four semesters to attend a college, trade school, beauty school or the like, of their choice. Since 2013 and as of January 2019, this scholarship fund has awarded grants to 21 different family members. Five of those students have since graduated from college and others have used funds to help them learn a skill to improve their job performance or language skills. We are happy to help our homeowners improve their lives through education. If you would like to help us continue this support, please note on your donation that it (or part of it) should go to the Elane Wilcox Scholarship fund for KAHFH homeowners and their families.
